"Dear Jane" by Nataliya Oryshchuk won the First Prize in the Playwrights Association of New Zealand One Act Play 2018 competition. 

 

The script will be read by 3 experienced Christchurch actors in front of live audience. Playwright will be available for Q&A.

It is an unusual take on the story of Jane McIlraith/Deans who emigrated from Scotland to New Zealand in the 19th century to follow her fiancé John Deans, one of the first Canterbury settlers.
